Guide: How to Mount a Canvas into a Floater Frame?

It is always empowering to be deeply involved with all parts of the artistic production, from its idea to the final touches. And all aspects of executing your project and meeting high expectations of the final look are crucial and important. Now, let's assume that you already thought of your design, successfully placed it onto a canvas and… Now what? How would you make your work appealing and professional? This is where framing comes in handy. To help you with the very last stage of your creative journey we have created a guide, explaining the best and easiest way to mount your canvas into a frame.

Let’s get started!

Materials:

  • Floater Frame

  • Canvas (Print or Painting)

  • Offset Clips and Screws

  • Hanging Hardware Kit (wire, wire hoops, foam pads, wall hook)

  • Hammer

  • Drill

A couple of notes:

Floater Frame is your best option when it comes to canvas mounting, as its edges and structure allow the art piece to “float” within the frame. There are three types of floater frames to consider:

  1. Stair Step -  has a small "step" inside that provides a uniform amount of space between your canvas and the edge of the frame

  1. Tapered - has a minimalistic style, due to invisibility between the frame and canvas. It tapers at the front to leave a uniform amount of space between a canvas and a frame.

  1. L Shape - is the floater is the only style that gap can be customized

Off-set clips:

Off-set clips, also known as “Z brackets” and are stepped metal hardware which has a hole in either end, navigating where a screw or nail has to be driven. One end of the bracket is fastened to the stretcher bar frame, the other to the back of the picture frame and is used for attaching a canvas to a floater frame.

Assembling Guide:

Now that the materials are gathered, we may begin the assembling process.

Step 1. Placing Canvas onto a Frame

Place your canvas face down onto a clean surface. Put the floater frame face down on top of your canvas. Place one offset clip at the top center and bottom center of your canvas and frame.

Step 2.  Centering canvas Inside the Frame

Screw in both offset clips into the canvas frame and turn the work around to check if it is still aligned center and re-position if it is not center. Once centered, screw in the rest of the clips.

Step 3. Installing Your Hanging Kit

Screw the wire hoop to either side of your canvas and twist the wire around the hoop. Place the foam pads on the bottom corners of your frame and your art is ready to hang!

*Note: You will not have to worry about getting the right of-set clips by yourself, as we will make sure to provide you with the appropriate additions (clips, de wood screws, hanging wire, hangers and bumpers) to your frame of choice.*

And we are all done! How easy was that? Now, you are ready to present your artwork in its best way!

Printing on Adhesive Backed Media

Every business requires a great deal of promotion, advertisement and recognition that is sometimes hard to grasp. This is why it is important to have a “logo” of a brand that you desire to show, and important to find a clever way of displaying it! One of the options to consider would be printing your “logo” onto an adhesive backed media and modeling stickers, banners, posters, etc. that would be a great fit for your marketing campaign!

What is adhesive backed media?

Printing on adhesive media is a simple and effective process of applying your print onto a removable peel and stick Photo-Tex Adhesive Polyester Fabric. Its flexible, yet tight texture allows you to mount the finished product onto any flat surface (including wall corners) and avoid “annoying” air-bubbles between a surface and a print. It could be displayed both indoors and outdoors! Printing on adhesive media is a very popular service as it takes very little time to produce, and has a variety of benefits.

What is it for?

Like we mentioned before, many of our customers, who are interested in this fun service, often purchase it for their own business-related needs, such as creating banners and logos of their organizations. However, the list of ways to use prints on adhesive media goes on and may include:

  • Photos

  • Labels

  • Signs

  • Marketing & Political Campaigns

  • Car Wraps

  • Floor Decals

  • Sporting and School Events

  •  New Product Announcements, Exhibitor Show Booths

  • Custom wallpaper

  •  Home murals

… and many more!

How would I use it?

You will not struggle with the usage of adhesive print, as all you need to do is choose a place on which you wish to mount your print and remove the protective coat off the adhesive part of the product. And now you have an elegant, reusable and reliable piece which will help you drag the attention of potential customers or audience.
