Whether you're looking to jazzy up your brand on instagram or decorating the new coffeshop, stock photography is one of the ways to find and express what you're looking for, without needing to take the photo yourself.

Of course, looking through numerous stock photography sites can be extremely expensive and confusing. While there are some excellent stock photography sites that licence their images for free even for commercial use and distribution, it also takes ages to comb through all the awesome choices before picking the couple few that perfectly accentuate your brand.

Artist + Promo: Shine Bright Like a Diamond

With February already underway, there's a special date rising on the horizon. Whether you're planning a cozy night in or a bouquet of flowers, it's a wonderful day to cherish and enjoy the people and things you love in life.

And for those of you who are planning on something even more special (or have a ring in your pocket!) - have we've got a thematic post for you today!

Artprint by Blacklist Studio

Today's artists' feature are all inspired by those whose love truly for their passions sparkle and shine - with their massive and intricately detailed macro reproductions of diamonds, jewels and facets.

Diamond B, oil on linen, 2010

Hailing from Japan but based in the Netherlands, Hidenori Mitsue has an impressive collection of vivid, vibrant, and incredibly energetic work. Her work of Diamond B captures the dynamic dance of light and fire within the diamond's facets...a truly evocative and stunning piece.

With a fantastic eye for crisp lines and geometric shapes, Kurt Pio is one of my favourites. His collection of macro jewel paintings range from clear brilliant diamonds to citrine-shaded marquis stones and regent sapphires.

Juliette, Oil on Canvas, 36x36, 2016

With her razor-sharp hyperrealism and subtle blends of lustrous color, Angie Crabtree's macro diamond oil paintings are breathlessly bedazzling. Using painting techniques that were once reserved for royalty, Angie's work explores the concept of modern luxury. You can find her prints on high end leather wallets and as prints, but you can also contact her directly for special commission pieces, such as engagement diamonds and anniversary stones, etc.

Thinking of gifting a bejewelled art piece of your own? At USAOnCanvas, we have premium luster, premium glossy, premium semigloss, metallic paper for a crisp and colorful diamond-clear look and feel. If you're inspired by Kurt Pio's work, we also sell round canvases for painting and for canvas prints. And for a limited time only, use the coupon code MYLOVE to receive 20% off regular priced canvas and photo prints!

No matter what you choose to gift this Valentine's, we hope you enjoy the warmth of the day and that you partake in all that you love. Whether it be with your significant other, close friend, or just yourself, let your love and passion shine bright like a diamond!

Artists: The Picture-In-Picture Series By An Artist Duo

An artist duo from Germany Hank Schmidt in der Beek and photographer Fabian Schubert have been working on collaborative project since 2009, a humorous series of photographs called Und im Sommer tu ich malen (“And in the Summer, I do paint”). Schubert captures der Beek working on his original outdoor paintings (plein air paintings) at different scenic locations in Europe where renowned painters from history such as Cezanne, Monet, and Van Gogh have been inspired.

However, there is a twist to this photography series: in der Beek is captured painting the pattern of his shirt instead of focusing on the magnificent landscape around him. in der Beek explains his thought process by saying: "Confronted with the immenseness of the mountains and the littleness of my canvasses, I decided to paint what’s nearest to me instead of what’s afield and giant.”

I too get overwhelmed by majestic views of nature, not even bothering to try to portray what I see on paper. Rather, I would just immerse myself in the scene. in der Beek takes one extra step to actually acknowledge and show his feeling about his littleness and mereness in a humorous way. The duo's artistic approach is definitely something for anyone to think about.

At USAOnCanvas, we have premium luster, premium glossy, premium semigloss, metallic paper for a professional photographic look and feel with an option of dry mounting and laminating prints on foam board, gator board, sintra, dibond, matboards, plexi, plywood and more substrates.

Artist: Clever Photo Manipulations By Francesco Vullo

Francesco Vullo is Sicily born artist who studied at Institute of Design (IED) in Milan, where he just graduated in illustration and animation in July 2016. Congratulations!

Vullo's works reflects contemporary culture with messages of social criticism. The artist juxtaposes the visualization of the world/society/culture with something else in surreal representations to communicate with emotions. Although Vullo uses bright vivide colors to his works, the inner meaning of each pieces are never stays light or shallow, meaning that the artist is playing with the idea of juxtaposition in both of the content and visuals of his works.

I found it exciting to first look at Vullo's visually pleasing manipulated photographs and then to analyze the internal meaning of the images. Try to come up with your own interpretation or to find the artist's intended message for each pieces of work. :)

Artist: Delicate Lines Encompassing Imagination By Simón Prades

Simón Prades is an illustrator based in Saarbrücken, Germany. Prades works with ink, pencil, and watercolor to embody his imaginary world, often based in real world, that encompasses nature, memories, and dreams. I'd say that his works definitely capture momentariness.

I first came across his eye-catching works on Pinterest and Behance page while browsing for artists to write about, and after visiting his website I was so pleased to go ahead and write a blog post about his works. Take a moment to cherish Prades' delicate lines and gentle yet shocking use of colors, and make sure to visit Prades' website for high resolution images!
