Artist: Paul Rousteau's Hauntingly Beautiful Mix Of Realism And Surrealism

Paul Rousteau is a photographer who is based in Paris and London. When you first look at Rousteau's works, you will notice that the photographs are in a collection of three or often more photographs and they are in fact hauntingly beautiful in color. Rousteau arranges realistic up front photographs and blurred dreamlike photographs together like a collage to create a juxtaposition of dreamworld and reality (rather fashionable reality).

Blurred photographs are often considered as something to be avoided, but in his art, Rousteau renders blurs "painterly". He is such a gentle, delicate, yet powerful photographer.

Emily Forgot is the artist name of London-based graphic artist Emily Alston who does a diverse range of advertising, retail, publishing & editorial, and visual identity.

Aritst: Ugo Gattoni And Otherworldly Scenes

 

It is quite funny how I came across Ugo Gattoni’s crazy beautiful rendering of a dreamy cityscape about six months ago. I was trying to transfer my files from my computer to the other one via WeTransfer instead of using a portable USB or an external hard drive just to save my lazy self. And there was Ugo Gattoni’s famous Hippopolis piece, a new scarf design for Hermès, on the background as a featured artwork. There weren't any information about the artist, but just the name. Later after doing an extensive amount of researches on this artist, I got an impression that he is "modern M. C. Escher meeting fashion".

How AGP works:

1. Open an Artist Gallery Program account by signing up on our registration page. Please make sure you have entered your billing and shipping information completely. 

2. Apply for the "Artist Gallery" program: You need to email us a link to your website or up to 5 hi-res files/images of your artwork to be reviewed. 

3. Once your account has been approved, upload high-resolution images of your artwork or 
photos to USAOnCanvas.com. We create museum-quality prints of your artwork or photos on paper, canvas, plaques, and more. The higher the resolution of your image/photo, the better quality and size of your print! 

4. When a customer decides to purchase one of your prints, we:
- process the customer's payment
- print your image on canvas, fine art paper or a plaque, whatever the customer has ordered
gallery wrap it on stretcher bars (if applicable)
- frame and mat it (if applicable)
- package and ship it to the customer!
- notify you - the artist - that a sale has been made. 

5. If your account balance reaches $100.00 in any month, we'll send your payment before the end of the following month via check or PayPal. For example, if your account balance reaches the payment threshold during August, we'll send you a payment at the end of September.

Artist: Two Places At One Time With Siobhan McBride

Today's post is about Siobhan McBride's landscape paintings. Unfortunately, I don't have much information about McBride because there is absolutely no aritst information available even on the artist's website; instead, McBride places a painting titled Captivity (2015) to do the talking for the artist... In her (I can only assume her, because according to Google, apparently Siobhan is a feminine Irish name.) paintings, two of more spaces are playfully meshed up together to create a single image with multi-perspectives. Sometimes two totally different spaces are stitched together intentionally in collage-like way, and other times one scene is divided into two spaces by a line created by a wall or an open door or a desk or even a waterline that goes across the picture plane.

Artist: Chun Eun Sil And Her Loveable Space

Today's artist I would like to introduce to you is Korean illustrator, Chun Eun Sil. She has been one of my favorite illustrator for many years. She is known for playful use of negative spaces, gentle colors, and adorable characters. I love every corner of Chun's illustrations that I could just gaze on her paintings for hours and hours. :) Last year when I visited Korea, I bought a postcard set of Chun's illustrations. I was so happy with it, but now that I think that I should have gotten a large size print instead. I'd be able to see all the details if each illustrations then!
